Don't be offensive. Don't be boring. These are the costumes you should avoid wearing this Halloween.

Halloween season is upon us again, for those who celebrate it. If you're like most people, you probably want to find a costume that will be unique but won't piss people off. If you're like most people, you also probably have no clue how to find that balance. Luckily, we're here to help! We can't help you figure out what to wear, but we can definitely help you figure out what not to wear. Have a great weekend by not dressing like the following:
1. Ray Rice
Seriously, people are doing this. Don't be like those people. There's nothing cool about making fun of domestic violence.
2. Ebola nurse
So, you think dressing up as a nurse treating Ebola is a joke? Come on, you're better than that.
3. Non-Ebola nurse
If you can easily borrow your costume from a friend because he or she wears it everyday to work, it's probably going to be overdone. You don't want to be like everyone else, do you?
4. A character from Orange is the New Black
This is one of those cliché costumes that everyone will be wearing. You're more unique than that. So stay away.
5. Anything that requires blackface
Now, let's say you went ahead and dressed as a character from Orange is the New Black anyway. Don't do it like this. You know people are going to take offense to it, even if you don't mean to offend anyone. Just save yourself the trouble and embarrassment. Check this article out if you need to test if people will be pissed off or not by your costume.
6. Any superhero costume
These are just a little too easy. You want to be unique, don't you? This includes anything with the word man in it, Batman, Robin, Captain America, Cat Woman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Super Woman, Super Boy, Super Bowl (ok that would be interesting), etc.
7. Anything from the "Fat Girl Costumes" section of Walmart
Yes, Walmart had a "fat girl costumes" section on their website. Yes, you should be irate about this. Walmart is already known for all things cheap. I guess you can add cheap shots to the list, as well.
8. Any scary mask-wearing guy
This is just too easy and too cliché. Includes but not limited to, Jason masks, Michael Myers masks, and Scream masks.
9. Trayvon Martin
Really shouldn't even have to expound on this one.
10. Darth Vader
Because I know you're more creative than that.
11. Boston Marathon bombing victim
Because a lot of people died or got injured during this accident. And you don't make fun of people who die or get injured.
12. Thing 1 and Thing 2
This should be a "thing" of the past. OK, that wasn't as good as it sounded in my head. Point stands, regardless.
13. Malaysian Airlines flight attendant
Because, again, you don't make fun of people from horrible tragedies. Anyway, have fun and be safe this Halloween!
